Put on Trial

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations…”
-James 1:2

The plan that I have in life may not line up with the plans that God has for me. God has an agenda for my life and it is not always going to be joyous, happy, or easy but He wants me to be complete. This may require going through trials.

This is why I must stand firm knowing that He will never leave me nor forsake me. He wants us to be prepared for the storm. The Lord hears our prayers yet He still has to bring forth what is needed to be completed at the time. We are a speed culture. We want a microwave relationship with Him. That is not how God operates. There’s somethings that will take time for God to develop in me. It will come at an appointed time. With may trials will be many challenges and opportunities to forgive, take a faith walk, and be fruitful in due season. In order to follow God I must be willing to love people which will require operating in forgiveness.
Levels of forgiveness are:
1. One time pass
2. Forgive and move on (Distance)
3. Intimate forgiveness ( reconcile)

God has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation. The Lord will forgive and come back to Him. This is how he uses us to be Christ ambassadors. If I can do it with God than I can do it with people.

Steps to reconciliation:
a. Fear for God (conviction) motivates me; count the cost
b. Remain reasonable and rational
c. Humility: what I am is plain to God (when I see God I see myself is the type of relationship I should be striving for). Figure out what cause me to get to a certain point and what role did pride play into it that would prevent progress
d. It may not make sense: if we are not in our right minds it’s because the Lord is calling me to do that is not in my character.
e. Death: Christ died so that we can have a relationship with God. The same ways that both parties are to reconcile by dying to flesh. With reconciliation must accompany change. True change is the key to reconciliation.
f.Resurrection: Start over
g. Leave the grave behind
h. Perspective has to change: have a new attitude, see that person as new. So that you won’t see that person carnally but spiritually so that I don’t count sins with that person. Leave the past behind and let it go!

Where there is evil there is selfishness. Don’t waste time entertaining people that are a lost cause. They will only distract you from your goals. Complete change takes time and it may not happen as quickly as I would like…it’s a process.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become anew.”
-2 Corinthians 5:17
